Chinese Demand Revives Copper ETFs

Copper ETFs have gotten a boost from an increase in demand for copper in China, according to an article on ETF Trends.

The iPath Dow Jones UBS Copper ETN (NYSEArca: JJC) was up 1.2 percent Wednesday, and on Tuesday its reached a one-week high on reports that China imported 508,942 metric tons of copper in December, according to the report.

China accounts for close to 40 percent of the global demand for copper, and Chinese copper demand is projected to expand by 12 percent in 2012, the article said.
