The 2012 Summer Olympics could be a boon for companies like Nike in the coming year and, in turn, could boost some ETFs that hold Nike and other athletic apparel makers, according to an article posted on Benzinga that cited research by S&P Capital IQ. While Nike has fallen close to 7 percent in the past month, new product launches and brand marketing to a global audience during the Olympic Games in London next month could easily change the tide, reports Benzinga. S&P Capital outlined the Vanguard Small Cap ETF (NYSEArca: VB) and the Focus Morningstar Consumer Cyclical ETF (NYSEArca: FCL) as two options for investors aiming to make Olympics-related plays, the article said.
