EGA Emerges With Sector ETFs
By ETFR Staff | June 25, 2009

Emerging Global Advisors made its debut in the ETF arena in May with the launch of the first of its proposed emerging markets sector funds, marketed under the Emerging Global Shares name.

The New York-based firm rolled out the EGS Emerging Markets Energy Fund (NYSE Arca: EEO) and the EGS Emerging Markets Metals & Mining Fund (NYSE Arca: EMT). Both funds―and the rest of the pending family―track 30-stock indexes provided by Dow Jones Indexes as part of its Dow Jones Titans series. EEO’s portfolio includes oil and gas companies from 13 emerging markets, while EMT covers metals and mining companies from nine emerging markets.

Both funds charge an expense ratio of 0.85% apiece. EGA has eight more emerging markets sectors slated for launch.
