David Blitzer   David Blitzer is the chairman of the S&P 500 Index Committee and a member of Standard & Poor’s Investment Policy Committee and Economic Forecast Council. He previously served as corporate economist at McGraw-Hill and as senior economic analyst with National Economic Research Associates. Blitzer is often quoted in the national business press and is the author of Outpacing the Pros: Using Indices to Beat Wall Street’s Savviest Money Managers, McGraw-Hill, 2001.
 
John Bogle   John Bogle is the founder and former CEO of The Vanguard Group, Inc., and president of the Bogle Financial Markets Research Center. He created Vanguard in 1974 and had been associated with a predecessor company since 1951, following his graduation from Princeton University magna cum laude in Economics. Bogle founded the Vanguard 500 Index Fund, the first index mutual fund, in 1975. Vanguard now comprises some 130 mutual funds with $995 billion in assets.
 
John Haslem   John Haslem is professor emeritus of Finance at the Robert H. Smith School of Business, University of Maryland, College Park. He served the Smith School as founding academic affairs dean and as founding chair of the finance department. His mutual funds analysis course was the first of its kind. Haslem has authored five books, including Mutual Funds: Risk and Performance Analysis for Decision Making, Oxford: Blackwell Publishing, 2003.
 
Ron Hilton   Ron Hylton holds a Ph.D. in particle physics from Columbia University. Before entering the financial industry, he was a researcher in the Computer Science department of IBM’s Watson Laboratory. He served as the principal architect for the first global risk system at Citibank’s Capital Markets Risk Management group. He then became the senior quant researcher supporting the creation of structured equity derivatives, first for Citibank and (after the merger) for Salomon Smith Barney. He is currently an independent developer of ETFs and other financial products.
 
Vincent Lowry   Vincent Lowry is the founder and CEO of VTL Associates, where he also serves as the firm’s chief investment consultant. He is responsible for leading the firm’s investment consulting team, which advises institutional investment portfolios with approximately $16 billion in assets. Prior to founding VLT in 2004, Vince was managing director at Smith Barney Consulting Group. He earned both a B.S. in Political Science and an MBA from St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia.
 
  Brad Zigler formerly served as head of marketing, education and research for the Pacific Exchange and Barclays Global Investors. Zigler is a founding member of the Global Association of Risk Professionals Education Committee, and has contributed to theStreet.com, MarketWatch.com, Institutional Investor, Financial Planning, CRB Trader, Mutual Funds and Registered Rep.
