David Blitzer

David Blitzer is managing director and chairman of the Standard & Poor’s Index Committee. He has overall responsibility for security selection for S&P’s indices and index analysis and management. Blitzer previously served as chief economist for S&P and corporate economist at The McGraw-Hill Companies, S&P’s parent corporation. He is the author of “Outpacing the Pros: Using Indexes to Beat Wall Street’s Savviest Money Managers,” McGraw-Hill, 2001. Blitzer received his M.A. in economics from Georgetown University and his Ph.D. in economics from Columbia University.

George Foster

George Foster is head of product development for ProShares ETFs and ProFunds Group. He joined ProFund Advisors LLC in 1999. During 2008, he served in the capacity of acting chief investment officer and also served as director of portfolio from 2004 to 2008, overseeing the team management of all ProFunds and ProShares, including management of the portfolio staff and trading operations. Foster earned an M.B.A. from The George Washington University and a B.S. in mechanical engineering from Clarkson University. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.

Jeremy Held

Jeremy Held joined ALPS in 1996 and is currently director of research for ALPS Advisors. He is responsible for research, product development, consulting and distribution services for the ALPS ETF, closed-end fund and advisory business. Held is a frequent speaker at investment conferences and his work has appeared in such publications as the Journal of Indexes, Research magazine and Institutional Investor. Held is a Certified Financial Planner and currently a candidate for the Certified Financial Analyst designation.

Joanne Hill

Joanne Hill is head of investment strategy for ProShares ETFs and ProFunds Group. Prior to joining ProFunds, she was employed by Goldman Sachs for 17 years, where she was a managing director in charge of global equity derivatives strategy. Before joining Goldman, Hill was on the finance faculty of the University of Massachusetts (Amherst) and was a research analyst at the Federal Reserve Board. She received a Ph.D. in finance from Syracuse University, an M.A. in international affairs from The George Washington University and an undergraduate degree in International Service from American University.

Geoffrey Horrell

Geoffrey Horrell is a customer propositions manager in the investment & advisory group at Thomson Reuters. He oversees industry classification and is responsible for the launch of the new Thomson Reuters Business Classification (TRBC) schema. Horrell is also an expert in extensible business reporting language (XBRL) and leads strategy for Thomson Reuters’ public filings content. He has been with Thomson Reuters for eight years. Horrell’s work has appeared in major global business publications, and he has presented at several conferences and expos.

Christian Magoon

Christian Magoon is president of Claymore Securities, Inc. and Claymore Advisors, LLC. His responsibilities include oversight of U.S. product development, marketing and distribution across the firm’s exchange-traded fund, closed-end fund and unit investment trust product lines. Magoon is a frequent contributor to CNBC and Bloomberg TV, and has been quoted in a wide variety of publications. Prior to joining Claymore, he served as a senior vice president at First Trust Portfolios. Magoon holds both a B.A. and an M.A. in communications from Wheaton College.

Richard Meraz

Richard Meraz is a manager in the quantitative research group of the markets division of Thomson Reuters. He is responsible for quantitative engineering of stock-selection models and also takes on custom analytical projects for other business units in the organization. Prior to joining StarMine Corporation, which was eventually acquired by Thomson Reuters, Meraz spent several years as a computational biologist at the Department of Energy’s Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, where he applied machine-learning algorithms to research problems in genomics.
