CBSX To Acquire NSX The CBOE Stock Exchange (CBSX), the all-electronic exchange created by the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) and four market-maker partners in 2007, is acquiring the National Stock Exchange (NSX), according to an announcement at the end of September. Terms weren’t disclosed.
The transaction, which is pending regulatory approval, would bring data systems and business operations from both exchanges together into one platform. But the CBOE hopes to keep the New Jersey-based National Stock Exchange as a separate unit, it said in a press release. The all-electronic National Stock Exchange is currently owned by several broker-dealers.
The press release made clear that the plan is friendly and mutual.
