Wilshire Is Real Time

In case you hadn't noticed, the Wilshire 5000 Total Market Index is now calculated in real time, starting late last year. Previously the index, which actually contains over 7000 stocks, was only distributed at the end of each business day. However, with more funds tracking the index and with growing interest from individual investors, "the need (for real-time calculation) has arrived," said Tiffany Massa, spokesperson for Wilshire Associates Inc.
