ETF Fund Flows: IJH Gathers $285.8 Million

Investors plowed $285.8 million into the iShares S&P 400 MidCap Fund (NYSEArca: IJH), making it the No. 1 fund on IndexUniverse’s “Top 10 Creations” list. Stocks rallied, driving total U.S.-listed assets under management to a record $1.159 trillion despite net outflows. Net outflows were $580.0 million, but the market’s rise pushed total assets under management to a record $1.159 trillion from $1.150 trillion on Tuesday, Feb. 1, according to data compiled by IndexUniverse. The Dow Jones industrial average was up by 83.55 points, or 0.66 percent, to close at 12,716.46. Stocks broke a four-session losing streak buoyed by news that Greece will work out a debt deal. Better-than-expected manufacturing data from China and the United States fueled the buying as well. The No. 2 fund on IndexUniverse’s “Top 10 Creations” list was the PowerShares QQQ Trust (NasdaqGM: QQQ), which had inflows of $268.4 million. The No. 3 fund on the list was the iShares Barclays Aggregate Bond Fund (NYSEArca: AGG), which had inflows of $254.1 million. U.S.-focused fixed-income ETFs saw inflows of $247.2 million. Redemptions The No. 1 fund on IndexUniverse’s “Top 10 Redemptions” list was the SPDR S&P 500 ETF (NYSEArca: SPY), which had outflows of $1.35 billion. The No. 2 fund on IndexUniverse’s redemptions list was the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund (NYSEArca: XLE), which had outflows of $216.6 million.
