Asia, Europe and U.S. slip on poor Japanese second-quarter growth data.

International

Asia

●      Asian stock indexes dropped as weakening growth in Japan added to global growth fears. Japan’s growth from April to June was 0.3 percent, or half the 0.6 percent expected, and less than the 1.2 percent seen in the previous quarter. Check for activity in the iShares MSCI Japan Index Fund (NYSEArca: EWJ).

●      The Nikkei eased 0.07 percent; KOSPI slipped 0.72 percent; Shanghai Composite tumbled 1.51 percent; Hang Seng abated 0.27 percent; S&P/ASX 200 rose 0.14 percent.

Europe

●      European stocks generally fell, even though the European stock indexes were mixed, as lower than expected Japanese second-quarter growth data caused investors to worry about the general state of the global economy. Expect this event to affect the Vanguard MSCI Europe ETF (NYSEArca: VGK).

Domestic

●      U.S. stock futures are currently flat after weak Japanese growth data added evidence that the global economy is slowing.
