Asia gains on ECB plan, Europe advances and U.S. futures signal higher opening on U.S. payroll and unemployment data.
International
Asia
- Asian stock indexes soared today after the ECB released its plan to reduce high yields in the euro area and China's plan to boost its economy.
- The Nikkei elevated 2.2 percent; KOSPI advanced 2.57 percent; Shanghai Composite skyrocketed 3.7 percent; Hang Seng rallied 3.09 percent; S&P/ASX 200 rose 0.3 percent.
- China has planned to bolster its economic growth through several projects that will advance its infrastructure such as improving its highways, ports and airports. However, China has not announced a government stimulus since the last one significantly increased the debt load of the country. Look for movements in iShares FTSE/Xinhua 25 Index Fund (NYSEArca: FXI).
Europe
- European stock indexes extended yesterday's gains as investors await a report on payrolls and unemployment in the U.S. Look for volatility in the Vanguard MSCI Europe ETF (NYSEArca: VGK).
Domestic
- U.S. stock futures indicate a higher opening as investors focus on payroll and unemployment data. Economists estimate an increase of 125,000 nonfarm payrolls in August and also no change to unemployment, leaving it at 8.3 percent.

Gold and Silver Slip
- Gold eased 0.22 percent, or $3.68, to $1696.60. Expect decreases in the SPDR Gold Shares physical bullion ETF (NYSEArca: GLD).
- Silver fell 1.02 percent, or $0.33, to $32.31. Expect drops in the iShares Silver Trust (NYSEArca: SLV).
WTI and Brent Oil Rallied
- The October contract for WTI crude oil rose 0.38 percent, or $0.36, to $95.89 per barrel.
- The October contract for Brent crude oil advanced 0.43 percent, or $0.49, to $113.98 per barrel.
- Look for gains in both the United States Oil Fund (NYSEArca: USO) and in the United States Brent Oil Fund (NYSEArca: BNO).
