Guggenheim Debuts Renminbi ETF
Guggenheim added to its lineup of CurrencyShares ETFs with the launch of the CurrencyShares Chinese Renminbi Trust (NYSE Arca: FXCH) last Tuesday. Like all the CurrencyShares, the fund is structured as a grantor trust. It charges an annual expense ratio of 0.40 percent.

Russell Debuts Small-Cap ETFs
Last Wednesday, Russell rolled out four new “investment discipline” ETFs tracking its own indexes. All four funds target small-cap stocks and carry expense ratios of 0.45 percent. They include:

  • Russell Small Cap Aggressive Growth ETF (NYSEArca: SGGG)
  • Russell Small Cap Consistent Growth ETF (NYSEArca: SCOG)
  • Russell Small Cap Low P/E ETF (NYSEArca: SCLP)
  • Russell Small Cap Contrarian ETF (NYSEArca: SCTR)


UBS Launches 2x 'Cloud Computing' ETN
On Oct. 5, UBS launched an ETN tied to an index covering companies operating in the cloud computing area. The ETRACS Monthly 2xLeveraged ISE Cloud Computing TR Index ETN due October 4, 2041 (NYSEArca: LSKY) tracks an index provided by the International Securities Exchange and charges an annual expense ratio of 0.60 percent.

ProShares Unveils Two Pairs Of ETFs
Last week ProShares debuted two pairs of ETFs. The first two began trading on Monday. The ProShares Ultra VIX Short-Term Futures ETF (NYSEArca: UVXY) and ProShares Short VIX Short-Term Futures ETF (NYSEArca: SVXY) are tied to an index of VIX futures. The second pair of ETFs rolled out on Wednesday; the ProShares Ultra DJ-UBS Natural Gas (NYSEArca: BOIL) and ProShares UltraShort DJ-UBS Natural Gas (NYSEArca: KOLD) give investors leveraged and inverse exposure to an index of natural gas commodity futures.

The “Ultra” funds provide 200 percent exposure to their underlying indexes, while the “Short” fund offers -100 percent exposure. The “UltraShort” ETF provides -200 percent exposure. All four funds charge annual expense ratios of 0.95 percent.

AdvisorShares’ TrimTabs Fund Starts Trading

AdvisorShares launched the AdvisorShares TrimTabs Float Shrink ETF (NYSEArca: TTFS) last Wednesday. The fund is managed by TrimTabs Asset Management, which uses an active strategy that targets low-volatility stocks. TTFS comes with an annual expense ratio of 0.99 percent.

USCF Files for Asia Commodities Fund
United States Commodity Funds recently filed for an ETF that weights commodities according to production and consumption numbers in three Asian countries: China, Japan and India. The fund will invest in approximately 15 commodities via futures contracts. It is expected to charge a management fee of 0.90 percent.

Direxion To Reverse-Split 6 Funds
Direxion has announced reverse splits on six of its ETFs that will be effective as of Nov. 10. One of the splits will be a 1-for-3 reverse split applied to the Direxion Daily Russia Bull 3X Shares (NYSE Arca: RUSL), while the remaining actions will be 1-for-5 splits. Those funds include:

  • Direxion Daily Real Estate Bear 3x Shares (NYSEArca: DRV)
  • Direxion Daily Emerging Markets Bull 3x Shares (NYSEArca: EDC)
  • Direxion Daily Financial Bull 3x Shares (NYSEArca: FAS)
  • Direxion Daily Latin America Bull 3x Shares (NYSEArca: LBJ)
  • Direxion Daly 20+ Treasury Bear 3x Shares (NYSEArca: TMV)
