Market Vectors EM Junk Bond ETF Launches
Van Eck Global debuted on Wednesday yet another high-yield bond ETF, the first to exclusively cover junk bonds issued in developing markets. The Market Vectors Emerging Markets High Yield Bond ETF (NYSEArca: HYEM) tracks a BofA Merrill Lynch index of roughly 260 dollar-denominated issues. It comes with an expense ratio of 0.40 percent.

 

TUESDAY, MAY 8

Arrow Debuts Global Yield-Focused ETF
Arrow Investment Advisors launched its first ETF on Tuesday. The Arrow Dow Jones Global Yield ETF (NYSEArca: GYLD) tracks an underlying index that encompasses global equity, real estate, alternatives such as MLPs, corporate debt and sovereign debt in the quest for yield, allocating 20 percent of its portfolio to each category. GYLD's primary competitor is the also-new iShares Morningstar Multi-Asset Income Index Fund (BATS: IYLD). GYLD is more expensive however, charging 0.75 percent versus IYLD's 0.60 percent.
