IndexIQ Seeks To Launch Debt ETFs
IndexIQ filed paperwork with the SEC recently requesting the permission necessary to launch fixed-income ETFs and ETFs using indexes from third parties. All of IndexIQ's currently listed ETFs are equity-based ETFs or funds of funds that track in-house indexes. The filing outlines plans for purely debt-based ETFs and funds that combine debt and equities.

TUESDAY, JULY 3

Pyxis Files For Senior Loan ETF
Pyxis Funds, formerly Highland Funds Asset Management, recently filed for an ETF that will focus on "junk" senior loans made to domestic and international entities. The Pyxis/iBoxx Liquid Loan ETF (NasdaqGM: LQLN) is slated to track the Markit iBoxx Liquid Leveraged Loan Index. The filing did not include an expense ratio.
