iShares Rolls Out Frontier ETF
iShares debuted an ETF on Thursday targeting 20 frontier markets. The iShares MSCI Frontier 100 Index Fund (NYSEArca: FM) comes with an expense ratio of 0.79 percent and is only the second broad frontier-focused ETF to hit the market; the first was Guggenheim's FRN, which was launched in 2008. The list of countries covered by FM includes Argentina, Bangladesh, Croatia, Estonia, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Kuwait, Lebanon, Mauritius, Nigeria, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Romania, Serbia, Sri Lanka, Ukraine, the United Arab Emirates and Vietnam.

Two iPath ETNs Close Due To Automatic Redemptions
The iPath Short Extended S&P 500 TR Index ETN (NYSEArca: SFSA) and the iPath Short Extended Russell 1000 TR Index ETN (NYSEArca: ROSA) were set to be redeemed on Sept. 14. The two ETNs offer inverse exposure to the S&P 500 and Russell 1000 indexes, and this year’s market rally triggered the automatic redemptions of the notes as it drove the ETNs’ prices below the threshold of $10 a share as of Sept. 7.

Van Eck Plans EM Aggregate Bond ETFs
In separate filings, Van Eck outlined plans to launch two ETFs focused on the emerging markets fixed-income segment. The broad Market Vectors Emerging Markets Aggregate Bond ETF and the dollar-denominated Market Vectors Emerging Markets USD Aggregate Bond ETF will include investment-grade and high-yield sovereign and nongovernment debt. The filing did not specify the index or which countries would be covered, nor did it provide tickers or fees.
