State Street Unveils Short-Term Corporate Bond ETF

On Dec. 17, State Street Global Advisors launched a new short-term corporate bond ETF. The SPDR Barclays Capital Short Term Corporate Bond ETF (NYSEArca: SCPB) tracks the Barclays Capital U.S. 1-3 Year Corporate Bond Index, which is a market-capitalization-weighted index that covers U.S. dollar-linked bonds with remaining maturity between one to three years and an outstanding face value of at least $250 million. SCPB’s annual expense ratio is pegged at 0.12 percent.

New CHIE Covers China Energy Sector

Global X Management expanded its play on China sectors with the Dec. 16 launch of its energy fund. The Global X China Energy ETF (NYSEArca: CHIE) is the first ETF to provide investors with targeted exposure to companies operating in the energy sector in China. CHIE tracks the S-Box China Energy Index and charges an expense ratio of 0.65 percent.

FaithShares Adds Two More ETFs

FaithShares Trust launched the remainder of its planned lineup of religious-based ETFs with the launch of the FaithShares Baptist Values Fund (NYSEArca: FZB) and the FaithShares Lutheran Values Fund (NYSEArca: FKL) on Dec. 15. The two new funds join the company's other three ETFs launched during the prior week that targeted the broad Christian market, Catholics and Methodists. All five ETFs track equally weighted indexes that invest in large-cap domestic names. Each charges an expense ratio of 87 basis points.
