ETFS Launches Gold ETF
Wednesday, Sept. 9 saw the launch of the ETFS Physical Swiss Gold Shares, the third fund holding only physical gold to hit the U.S. market. The new product will compete directly with the SPDR Gold Trust (NYSEArca: GLD) and the iShares COMEX Gold Trust (NYSEArca: IAU). It is ETFS's second product to list in the U.S.

AdvisorShares Files For Two Actively Managed ETFs
A recent filing from AdvisorShares details plans for two actively managed exchange-traded funds. The WCM/BNY Mellon Focused Growth ADR ETF would be managed by WCM Investment Management and would seek to beat the returns of the MSCI EAFE index and a custom benchmark. The Legacy Long/Short ETF would be managed by Suzanne Hamilton, founder and president of Legacy Asset Management Inc.; Hamilton is known for her all-asset approach to investing.
