In sum, across all 652 U.S. ETFs on the market, there was a net $4.7 billion in redemption activity last week. All told, there were 160 ETFs with net creation activity and 105 ETFs with net redemption activity.
These numbers do not include ETFs listed in the past week.
Largest Net Creations
For the second week running, net creation activity in the ETF space was low last week. The iShares Dow Jones US Transportation ETF (IYT) led all ETFs with nearly $350 million in creation activity, more than tripling the amount of assets on that fund. The iShares FTSE/Xinhua China 25 ETF (FXI) reversed a few weeks of net redemptions by adding $231 million in assets, while the PowerShares DB Agriculture ETF (DBA) scored an additional $167 billion.
Scanning down the list, five UltraShort ProShares ETFs make the list, suggesting that investors are still aggressively betting against the market.
