Record ETF/ETC Trading Volumes On LSE

The London Stock Exchange Group, which includes the London exchange and Borsa Italiana, reported record volumes of trading in exchange-traded funds and commodities during October. The number of ETF/ETC trades was up 76% over October 2008, while the average daily value traded increased 40% to £448 million. By comparison, cash equity trading volumes were down 39% from the same month the previous year. The average daily volume traded on the UK order book was down 44% annually.
