ETF Securities has listed 13 ETFs on the LSE, with trading starting on 6 November. The listings follow earlier, September launches of the same funds on Euronext Amsterdam and the Irish Stock Exchange.

The new funds are offered at a concessionary total expense ratio (TER) of 0% until 31 January 2009.

Eleven of the 13 ETFs track commodity-themed equity indices, including Alternative Energy, Nuclear, Water, Shipping, Coal, Steel, Utilities, Oil & Gas and Agribusiness.

The other 2 ETFs track the Russell 1000 and Russell 2000 indices, respectively.

Commenting on the launch, Graham Tuckwell, Chairman of ETF Securities, said:

“ETF Securities is extremely proud to be able to offer this exciting platform of 13 new equity ETFs to European investors. This broadens the asset classes ETF Securities offers to include equities and commodities.

“The decision to launch equity ETFs on thematic sectors has come largely from our clients, who have consistently asked ETF Securities to provide them with more investment opportunities, particularly themes or sectors they are currently unable to access through ETCs.”
